Using law to promote social change, three social entrepreneurs join CDDRL community this fall
In September, CDDRL's Program on Social Entrepreneurship welcomed its second class of Social Entrepreneurs in Residence at Stanford (SEERS) who hail from Malaysia, South Africa and the San Francisco Bay Area. Using the law as a vehicle for social change, this group is collaboratively working to advance the rights of women, minority groups and refugees around the world. Read more »

Kavita Ramdas appointed as Ford Foundation representative in New Delhi

Ramdas, executive director of the Ripples to Waves Program on Social Entrepreneurship at CDDRL, has been appointed as the Ford Foundation representative to New Delhi serving India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The Program on Social Entrepreneurship
The Program on Social Entrepreneurship at the Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law seeks to actively integrate the on-the-ground experience of social entrepreneurs – creative and determined global leaders, activists, human rights defenders, advocates for gender justice – from around the world with cutting-edge academic research at Stanford University. Building a tangible bridge between academia and practice, the PSE will generate innovative approaches to shape more inclusive models of democracy, advance sustainable and equitable development, and catalyze social change.
